T3 double-ended halogen lamps: what T3 / R7S means
Slim double-ended halogen tubes held between two R7S contacts rather than screwed in. Length decides the fit — 78 mm and 118 mm are the common sizes and are not interchangeable — and the wattage must be at or below the fixture rating. Handle the quartz with a cloth, because skin oil shortens lamp life.
