Elliptical high-intensity discharge lamps for metal halide and high-pressure sodium fixtures. ED17 uses a medium screw base; ED28 and ED37 use a mogul screw base. Replacement is by wattage, ANSI ballast code, and base — the fixture ballast must match the lamp type.
