Leviton load centers: what to check before you order
A load center is the breaker box that splits the incoming service into branch circuits. Leviton load centers are the panel half of the Leviton smart electrical panel system: the same enclosure takes ordinary plug-on branch breakers and the 2nd Gen smart circuit breakers, so a panel can start conventional and gain per-circuit monitoring later without being replaced. Three things decide the fit — the service size in amps (100A, 125A or 200A), the number of spaces (how many breaker positions the enclosure holds), and whether you need main lugs or a main breaker. Main-lugs panels have no main disconnect and are fed from an upstream breaker, typically as a subpanel; a main-breaker panel carries its own service disconnect.

Choosing the right one
- Service size first: the panel amperage must match the service, not the load you expect today.
- Spaces are breaker positions, not circuits — a two-pole breaker uses two spaces.
- Main lugs for a subpanel fed from an upstream breaker; main breaker where the panel is the service disconnect.
- Leave spare spaces. Tandem breakers are limited by the panel label, so plan the empty positions in.
- Panel work is permitted, inspected work in Florida. This is a parts page, not a wiring guide.
Breakers that go in this panel
Leviton plug-on branch breakers seat directly in these load centers. The 2nd Gen smart breakers add per-circuit energy monitoring and remote on/off in the same footprint, which is what most people are after when they search for a smart electrical panel.
