Why Choose the EGG

Six reasons the Big Green Egg is the most versatile outdoor cooker ever made — trusted by backyard cooks and pitmasters alike.

Ceramic Heat Retention

Superior insulation

Thick-walled ceramic construction absorbs and radiates heat evenly, maintaining precise temperatures from 200°F to 750°F+ with minimal charcoal use.

7-in-1 Versatility

7 cooking styles

Grill, smoke, bake, roast, sear, stew, and char on a single cooker. The EGG replaces your grill, smoker, pizza oven, and more.

Precision Temperature Control

200°F to 750°F+

Patented dual-damper airflow system provides pinpoint control over cooking temperature. Set it and forget it for low-and-slow or crank up the heat for steakhouse searing.

Natural Lump Charcoal

Pure flavor

Designed exclusively for 100% natural lump charcoal — no chemicals, no fillers, no off-flavors. The ceramic body enhances clean, wood-fired taste in every cook.

Lifetime Warranty

Lifetime coverage

Every Big Green Egg ceramic component is backed by a lifetime warranty. Built to last for generations of backyard cooking and gathering.

EGGspander System

Multi-level cooking

Multi-level cooking with the 5-piece EGGspander system. Cook at multiple heights and temperatures simultaneously for maximum versatility and capacity.

The Story

Life Tastes Better Outside

For over 50 years, the Big Green Egg has brought people together around incredible food. Inspired by ancient ceramic cooking vessels, founder Ed Fisher brought the kamado concept to America and perfected it with NASA-grade ceramic technology.

Today, the EGG is beloved worldwide — from weekend grillers to professional pitmasters. Every Big Green Egg ceramic component carries a lifetime warranty, because this is the last cooker you'll ever need.

Expert Knowledge

Everything you need to get the most from your Big Green Egg.

Choosing the Right EGG Size

Large EGG (Most Popular)

Cooking area: 262 sq. in. grid — enough for a 20 lb. turkey, 12 burgers, or 6 racks of ribs (with an EGGspander).
Best for: Families of 4-6 and anyone who wants the full range of grilling, smoking, baking, and roasting capabilities.
Our recommendation: The Large is the best-selling EGG for a reason — it handles everything from weeknight dinners to weekend cookouts.

Other Sizes

MiniMax: Same cooking area as the Small but in a compact, portable package with a built-in carrier — perfect for tailgating and camping.
XL & 2XL: Go big for large gatherings. The XL fits 24 burgers, and the 2XL is the ultimate party cooker for serious entertainers.
Mini: Tabletop grill for apartments, boats, and picnics — all the EGG flavor in a compact size.
