DAGGERZ organises its catalog by what you are fastening. So do we — every tile below opens a filtered grid with the facets that matter for that application.
Corrosion
In Cape Coral, the coating is the decision
Every DAGGERZ finish carries a published ASTM B117 salt-spray figure, and the spread is enormous — plain zinc fails in 24 hours where Dagger-Pro Ultra-Guard runs to 2,000. Coating and Corrosion Rating are filters on every category page, so you can shop the spec rather than guess from the colour.
Rule of thumb for Southwest Florida: zinc and phosphate are indoor finishes. Anything outside starts at Dagger-Guard or ACQ Ultra-Guard. Within sight of salt water, move to 305 stainless; for direct exposure — docks, seawalls, boat lifts — use 316.

Drill points
Match the point to the steel
The most common DAGGERZ mistake is a point that is too small for the steel — it work-hardens, burns the flute and never seats. This is the whole chart.
Point is a filter on the self-drilling, post-frame and needle-point grids. If you know the gauge you are going into, you can go straight to the right sub-set of the catalog.
| Point | What it is for | Steel thickness |
|---|---|---|
| #1 Stitch | Stitching two layers of light gauge | to 0.036" |
| #2 Point | Light gauge steel, track and stud | 0.036" - 0.105" |
| #3 Point | Medium gauge, purlins and girts | 0.105" - 0.175" |
| #4 Point | Heavy gauge | 0.175" - 0.312" |
| #5 Point | Structural steel | 0.312" - 0.500" |
| Type 17 | Auger point for wood - starts without a pilot hole | n/a |
| Type AB | Repair size for stripped-out 1/4" screw holes | n/a |
| Needle / Pierce | Punches light gauge with no swarf | to 0.036" |
| Diamond | Concrete and masonry tapping point | n/a |
Sub-brands
The names on the carton
DAGGERZ colour-codes and names each family. Series is a filter on every category page, so if a crew asks for “Dagger-Lok” you can hand them exactly that.
Code approvals & test data
DAGGERZ carries a Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance for High-Velocity Hurricane Zone work, plus ICC-ES evaluation reports. If your inspector asks, the paperwork is here.

Questions
DAGGERZ, answered
What is the difference between Dagger-Guard and Ultra-Guard?
Both are rated at 1,000 hours of ASTM B117 salt spray. Dagger-Guard is a three-layer coating for general exterior, metal building, concrete and masonry work. ACQ Dagger Ultra-Guard is a zinc/chromate substrate with a proprietary organic topcoat specifically approved for ACQ pressure-treated lumber, so it is the one for decks and fencing. ACQ Dagger-Pro Ultra-Guard doubles that again to 2,000 hours.
Which drill point do I need?
Match the point to the steel thickness. A #1 stitch point joins two layers of light gauge. #2 handles 0.036 to 0.105 inch. #3 covers 0.105 to 0.175 inch. #4 goes to 0.312 inch, and #5 drills structural steel up to 1/2 inch. Type 17 is not a drill point at all - it is an auger point for wood that starts without a pilot hole.
What finish should I use in Southwest Florida salt air?
Plain zinc is an indoor finish here - it is rated at 24 hours of salt spray. For anything exterior, start at Dagger-Guard or ACQ Ultra-Guard at 1,000 hours. Within sight of salt water, go to 305 stainless, and for direct exposure such as docks and seawalls use 316 stainless.
Can I mix stainless fasteners with aluminum?
With care. Stainless and aluminum sit far enough apart on the galvanic series that a wet, salty environment will corrode the aluminum around the fastener. That is exactly what the aluminum-industry line and IFI’s Corrosion Between Metals guide address - use the coated aluminum-industry screws and matching bonded washers rather than bare stainless into aluminum.
Are DAGGERZ screws approved for Florida high-velocity hurricane zones?
Yes. DAGGERZ carries Miami-Dade County NOA 23-0710.24 along with ICC-ES ESR-4229, ESR-5278, ESR-5422 and ESL-1128. Links to each report are on this page.
Do you sell DAGGERZ by the box or by the piece?
DAGGERZ is a full-carton line - every SKU here is priced as a complete manufacturer carton, from 250 pieces up to 15,000 depending on the size. Carton quantity is listed on every product page and is a filter in the grid. If you need a partial quantity, come see us in Cape Coral or Fort Myers.
Where can I buy DAGGERZ fasteners near me?
Family Hardware is a DAGGERZ stocking dealer with two Southwest Florida stores - Cape Coral at 622 SE 47th Terrace and Fort Myers at 13101 McGregor Blvd - and we ship nationwide. IFI’s nearest distribution centre is Tampa, so anything not on the shelf lands quickly.
