Proprietary Technology

Six product innovations that make Oatey the professional plumber's first choice — from code-compliant primers to no-caulk drain solutions.

Purple Primer (#30780)
Purple Primer (#30780)
Code-compliant

Industry-standard purple primer for PVC and CPVC pipe preparation. NSF-listed and code-compliant — the purple color provides visual proof of proper priming during inspection.

PVC / CPVC / ABS Cements

84+ cement products

Complete range of solvent cements for every pipe material — Regular, Medium, Heavy Duty, and Rain-R-Shine formulas for wet-condition applications.

Hercules Plumber's Putty
Hercules Plumber's Putty
Pro-grade seal

The professional's choice for sealing drains, faucets, and fixtures. Hercules plumber's putty stays soft and pliable — won't crack, shrink, or crumble over time.

No-Caulk Shower Drains
Tool-free install

Patented no-caulk shower drain technology eliminates the need for messy caulking. Compression gasket creates a watertight seal with a simple tightening — faster, cleaner installations.

Mystic Rainwater Products
Storm-ready

Mystic Rainwater collection products for sustainable water management. Roof flashings and drainage solutions designed for Florida's heavy rainfall climate.

Cherne Test Plugs
Pressure-rated

Cherne mechanical and pneumatic test plugs for pressure testing drain, waste, and vent systems. Essential for code-required testing on new construction and remodels.

How to Choose the Right Solvent Cement
By Pipe Material

PVC Cement (Clear/Gray): For Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC pipe and fittings — cold water pressure, DWV, and conduit applications.
CPVC Cement (Orange): Specifically formulated for CPVC hot and cold water distribution systems up to 180°F.
ABS Cement (Black): For ABS drain, waste, and vent piping — common in existing Florida homes.

By Application Condition

Regular Body: Standard applications with good fit pipe and fittings up to 4" diameter.
Medium Body: Interference-fit joints and larger diameter pipe up to 6" — most versatile choice.
Heavy Duty: Large diameter pipe (6"-12"), industrial, and pressure applications.
Rain-R-Shine: Wet-condition formula — apply even when pipe is wet. Ideal for Florida's humid climate.
