Decora slide dimmer with Lever Edge technology features a familiar rocker switch and slide bar aesthetic. The dimmer offers superior dimming performance with LED bulbs, and a faster, easier installation using Lever Edge terminals. The ESL01 works with existing wiring and is ideal for new and old homes, including single pole and 3-way installations, and is compatible with any 3-way switch. The dimmer includes a setup button to easily adjust settings such as dimming range, fade on, startup configuration, and more. Use with dimmable LED, CFL, incandescent or 120V halogen bulbs and fixtures only.

Leviton dimmers: slide, rocker and how to match the bulb
The control style is a preference; the load type is a fit. A SureSlide dimmer sets the level on a slide and switches with the slide or a separate paddle, so the brightness stays where it was set — the reason people look for a slide dimmer by name. Rocker and lever-edge models put the same control behind a Decora-style paddle. What matters more than the shape is what the dimmer is rated to drive: LED and CFL loads need a dimmer rated for them, because the low wattage of an LED can sit under the minimum load a legacy incandescent dimmer needs to run smoothly, which is what causes flicker and buzz. Check the wattage rating for the load type you actually have, and whether the circuit is single-pole or three-way before ordering.

Choosing the right one
- Match the dimmer to the bulb type — an LED/CFL-rated dimmer for LED and CFL loads.
- Wattage ratings differ by load type; the LED rating is far lower than the incandescent one on the same dimmer.
- Single-pole for one switch, three-way when two switches control the same light.
- Most dimmers need a neutral. No-neutral models exist and say so explicitly.
- Flicker or buzz on a dimmed LED is usually a dimmer/bulb mismatch, not a faulty bulb.
