Spiral finishing router cutter, HW-solid, Z 3, long design Spiral finishing router cutter HW/D14/NL50/S14x55/GL110/Z3/RH Application: Router cutter for sizing, grooving and finish cutting. For high demands on finish quality. Z 3 design for high feed speeds. Machine: Stationary routers with/without CNC control, machining centres, milling machines with spindles to mount shank tools. Workpiece material: Softwood and hardwood, chipboard and fibre materials (MDF, HDF etc.), uncoated, plastic coated, veneered etc., laminated veneer lumber (plywood, multiplex plywood etc.), duromers, plastomers, solid surface material (Corian, Varicor etc.), decorative laminates (HPL-compact laminate, Trespa etc.). Leitz Router & CNC Bits: Buying Guide
Solid tungsten-carbide and DIAMASTER PCD diamond router tooling for profiling, trimming, nesting, and boring on hand routers and CNC machining centres. Diamond tooling delivers up to 100× the edge life of carbide on coated board and composites.
How to Choose
- Confirm the shank diameter (6, 8, 10, 12 mm or 1/2") matches your collet.
- Match cutting diameter and cutting length to the profile and material thickness.
- Pick the spiral direction — up-cut clears chips, down-cut leaves a clean top edge, compression gives clean faces on both sides of coated panels.
- Choose HW for solid wood and short runs; DP (diamond) for MDF, laminate, and high-volume nesting.
Specs to Check
Best for CNC routers, machining centres, point-to-point, and hand-held routing.
Sharpen It, Don't Replace It
Solid-carbide spiral bits can typically be resharpened two to three times before retirement, restoring a factory-sharp cutting edge for a fraction of the cost of a new bit. Our spiral bit service is precision CNC grinding that preserves the flute geometry — not a hand touch-up.

Machines & Applications
Leitz tooling is machine-brand agnostic — fit comes down to the mounting, speed rating, and rotation, not the badge on your machine. Here is where this tooling typically runs and what professional shops use it for.
Runs On These Machines
- CNC nesting routers (Homag, Biesse, SCM, Anderson, Thermwood, C.R. Onsrud)
- Point-to-point machining centres
- Hand-held & table-mounted routers
What Pros Use It For
- Nested-based cutting of melamine, MDF & plywood cabinet parts
- Profiling MDF doors, drawer fronts & signage
- Compression-spiral trimming of coated panels — clean top and bottom faces
- Solid-surface, HPL & composite panel machining
