Appliance rollers and dollies: moving a washer, a dryer or a chest freezer alone
An appliance roller is a pair of adjustable steel rails on wheels that goes under a heavy appliance so one person can walk it out from a wall. The rails widen and narrow to the footprint of the machine, and the wheels spread the load so the appliance rolls across a floor instead of being dragged over it. The same tool is what people mean by a washing machine mover or a fridge dolly. Used under a chest freezer or a gun safe it is equally a furniture mover.

Choosing the right one
- Check the rail adjustment range against the footprint of your machine before ordering.
- Steel rails carry more than plastic and are the choice for a full-size washer or a loaded freezer.
- Rollers move an appliance; they are not a permanent stand. Take the machine off them once it is in place.
- On a tile or vinyl floor, lay a board across the path: the load per wheel is high enough to mark a soft surface.
Ordering more than one
One set moves one appliance. Trade buyers and property managers order by the case; the pack options in the buy box above show what a multiple costs.
