It features a 125 lb. load rating and a spring-loaded clamp that acts as a shock absorber when the caster is rolling over rough or uneven surfaces. It also features a universal mount for wood or metal gates.

A gate caster carries the outer end of a swinging gate so the hinges do not take the whole weight and the gate does not drag. What makes it a gate caster rather than an ordinary caster is the adjustable spring bracket: the wheel is pushed down onto the ground by a spring, so it rides up over a root, a rut or a slab that has lifted instead of stopping the gate dead. The bracket adjusts for ground clearance and mounts to either a wood or a metal gate frame. Match the load rating to the gate, not to the wheel size.
