How to choose pizza ovens

Wood-fired or gas?

Gas lights with a knob and holds temperature automatically — the easy weeknight choice. Wood gives you the ritual and a kiss of smoke. Alfa's Moderno 2/3 and Classico 2 come in either fuel, and every Alfa gas oven accepts a hybrid kit that burns real wood, so you do not have to choose forever.

How big?

Count mouths, not inches: a 1-pizza oven still feeds a family (each pizza bakes in ~90 seconds); a 2 Pizze is the backyard sweet spot; the 4 and 5 Pizze ovens keep a party fed without a queue. Bigger floors also mean more room for bread, roasts and pans.

Top, base or built in?

Every Alfa top can sit on a sturdy outdoor counter or masonry surface; the matching wrinkle-black bases add wheels and wood storage; and Alfa's stainless cooking stations build a freestanding pizzeria wall. Building an island? We will confirm clearances and venting with your builder.

About 500°C / 1,000°F (the Portable reaches 900°F), ready to cook in roughly 30 minutes. At full temperature a Neapolitan pizza bakes in about 90 seconds on the firebrick floor.

Do pizza ovens ship free?

Yes — Alfa ovens ship crated by freight, curbside, free in the contiguous U.S.; accessories ship by parcel. In Southwest Florida ask about local delivery and placement.

Can an outdoor pizza oven cook more than pizza?

Absolutely — bread (up to 4 kg per bake in the larger ovens), roasts, fish, vegetables and desserts. Alfa's Bread / Low & Slow kits add a door and thermometer for long, low cooks, and the BBQ 500 grate turns the oven into a wood-fired grill.
